The textbook presents a complete course on philosophy for students of biomedical specialties including both its history and a presentation of modern theoretical developments. One of its features was the principle of material selection: students are off ered a conceptual textbook in which, in presenting the traditions of world philosophical thought, primary importance is given to the history of ideas while minimizing biographical details, and the basis of a systematic course in general philosophy is formed by the implementation of the ideas of synthesis and integration of various philosophical approaches.
